Thanks for using Khan Academy! We’re excited to hear your feedback. This community is a place for THE MOST AMAZING LEARNERS in the world to hang out, meet each other and talk about the Khan Academy experience. We want all of you to experience awesomeness during your stay here, so please remember a few things while posting:

  • No bad language and no rude gestures, seriously.
  • Be awesome to each other.
  • Don’t post anything that isn’t yours to post.
  • Don’t let your evil self from a parallel universe post as you.
  • Check to see if someone has already posted an idea that is similar to yours. Add a comment to their idea rather than creating your own.
  • Don’t spam.
  • Keep each post to one specific new idea. Don’t try and talk about 2 or more ideas in one post.
  • When you want to make the platform better, be specific. We need to know where the problem happened, what you expected to happen and what went wrong. For more information on how to best post feedback, read this article.

Any posts found to be in violation of any of the above will be taken down, probably by grumpy math wizards.

General science discussions

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

  1. I'd like more information about topic prerequisites.

E.g. should I go through some chemistry before I start the Human Biology topic? Should I go through all subjects before starting Health and Medicine? And so on. An article on this would do.

    • Could you add a course on Special Relativity like the one on WorldScienceU, but simpler? Maybe create a label for intermediate courses?

Maybe you could create courses on things a little bit more complicated than what you have right now? That would be awesome. For example, Special Relativity ins't that hard, so a course I think would be doable.

      • How about lagrangian mechanics?

there are many videos about newtonian mechanics, with work, enegy, gravitation, etc., but there's a lack of lagrangian mechanics, there's nothing about the principle of least action, or lagrange's equations

              • Adding to the video lectures , why don't you start uploading practical experiments or at least animated videos ? Better to learn .....

Uploading videos of practically done experiments let students learn the topics with more clarity and perfection and it will be easy to understand the concepts..

                  • You should add badges for science because it may motivate people more.

I think that you should add a learning dash board and badges to science, this way you will be motivated in science. Also if the badges could be different from the regular badges and maybe called some thing like the different layer of the earth and the core is the hardest badge to get.

                    • Request for categorizing science topics by school grade

                      Hi,
I would like to request categorizing the science topics for grade school children in a manner similar to math. I am trying to help my daughter who felt her 6th grade curriculum was not complete, she just wants to be on par with the students around the world with 6th grade science, but I am finding it hard to figure out what students around the world learn in 6th grade.

Please could you help us with figuring this out. I would like to help my daughter get upto speed before she enters 7th grade.

                      Thanking you,

                      With Best Regards, …

                        Hi Sal ,
Can you add or update videos on current electricity. I have found these concepts to be challenging & difficult to visualize.

                        Regards

                        • Can't recommend science topics to students. Don't want to use Math and that is all that is assigned to them. Can't change it.

Be able to recommend science videos. Can only get students to have Math on there accounts.

Hello, sir it has been a year studying on this site for me and I have learnt a lo from it. Thank you vary much for that. And it could have been more better if some videos related to the concept of Heat are also added to the list. Here in my country the concept of heat is very important one and to me it seems quite difficult with the heat concept. So it's a kind request to you and your team to please check into this matter as soon as possible.
                              Thanking you.

                                • can you guys add a new playlist on modern physics such as quantum, nuclear, lasers and semi conductors?

i will highly appreciate if the tutorials are based on Singapore-Cambridge Advance level (A-level), H2 physics syllabus. Maybe go in a little bit beyond syllabus.

                                  • Practice problems in Physics?

There are videos with problems in Physics, but it can be a hassle to skip around in the videos just do to some problems. Practice sections in Physics would be much more convenient, and only require one section per topic.

Sir, please have a playlist of quantum chemistry in upcoming years including topics like
                                      principles of quantum mechanics
rydberg, blackbody radiation, wave duality, bohr, heinsberg
schrodinger, harmonic oscillation, rigid rotor, hydrogen atom, diatomic mol and many more..........

hope you start work on them and have a grand playlist of that......
you r doing GREAT GREAT work sir, inspired by you.......a student in 11th grade

                                      • create exercise in physics similar to other exercise that exists (like maths)

for maths there are some exercises are available to test the skill, but for physics there isn't any. if possible please add exercise in physics too to test the skill.
